“F5, boom match is over….WHAT THE HELL?!?!? NO WAY.”
That was my reaction to the main event last night at WWE Battleground. Brock Lesnar seemed to be a pinball away from regaining the belt. But, the gong hit and it was the return of The Undertaker. Back to back Tombstones and it was lights out for Brock.
No doubt in my mind Brock was winning that match. Seth Rollins had bought some prime real estate in Suplex City. Rollins should be thanking the deadman for his help.
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s Super John Cena. Horrible booking by the WWE having Kevin Owens tap out to the STF. I don’t understand why you bring Owens up to lose 2 of 3 to Cena. A rivalry between Owens and Cesaro was set up perfectly, guess Owens beats Balor at NXT Takeover for sure now.
Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt gave us a physical war. Bray Wyatt wins with help from an old family member, Luke Harper. Looks like a family reunion if you ask me. Could this be the return of Sting to set up a battle with Wyatt? I sure hope so those two could do a fantastic program.
I have to say the Divas Match ruled. Sasha Banks has a place in my heart(I have a huge crush on her) as a Boston girl. Charlotte is the daughter of Ric Flair, was just as impressive as Sasha. Even Brie Bella held her own, she has gotten a bit better. Charlotte wins a entertaining match, should be interesting where they go from here.
Sheamus and Orton as well as the tag match were ok. Nothing really special there.
We are set up for Lesnar vs Undertaker at SummerSlam. Whoa doggy, that’s gonna be fun. Maybe this time the dead will overcome the powers of Suplex City.
Seth Rollins is left in the midst. He really has no opponent unless they throw someone at him. If they do that, give Cesaro a chance, guys a warrior. If they go the Triple H vs Rollins route, then we are talking fireworks, and possible a Shield reunion.
Overall Grade: B, needed an Owens W to get the A.
