Battle of the Birds: Eagles vs Seahawks

Seattle vs Philadelphia. Kelly vs Carroll. Legion of Boom vs Legion Of Zoom. Two birds battling it out for supremacy, let’s get it going. Let’s dive into the matchup a little closer.

Philly comes in coming off a huge win at Dallas on Turkey Day. Seattle also won a huge road test at San Fran. Emotions will be running high to say the least.

This game isn’t just a cross divisional match-up. Both teams need this to jet from falling out of the playoff race.

Philly will need another big contest from Shady McCoy. Shady had himself a day last week. He will need to be on fire this week again.

Seattle will look to Marshawn Lynch. Lynch as we all know is a beast. But he will have to be on top of his game going up against Connor Barwin and Mychal Kendricks. As well as Feltcher Cox, Cox was a huge factor in slowing down DeMarco Murray last week.

I’d like to see who the Seahawks put on Jeremy Maclin. Sherman vs Maclin could be the key match-up of the game. If Maclin isn’t who Sherman covers I’ll be shocked. This could really open it up for guys like Riley Cooper and Zach Ertz. The passing matchups are endless though and its going to be tough for both teams to figure something out. If Sherman covers Jordan Matthews, then look for Maclin down field all day.

My big factor in this game could end up being Darren Sproles. Sproles could really turn this game upside down. Whether it be in special teams or on a 2nd and long. Sproles is a difficult player to stop. I would be shocked to see anyone but Earl Thomas on him when hes on the field.

Turnovers will be key as well. Sanchez needs to stay away from errant passes. Seattle are ball hawks and will go after everything. Earl Thomas could be the X-Factor here, the formal Defensive Player of The Year can add a pick or a fumble and shake the roots of the Linc.

In the end, I again think the Eagles pull it out. Shady will most likely rush for a ton of yards. Home-field is huge and the Linc will be rocking. This one will undoubtedly be a game filled with trash talk. Both teams have secondaries that like to talk a lot. Should be interesting how the refs handle that portion of the game.

My Pick Eagles 38 Seahawks 28
