Four days separate the battle in Jerry’s world. The latest edition of the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys will commence on Thanksgiving day. This is just the first of two meetings between the clubs, and the winner will hold supremacy in the NFC East for the time being.
Both clubs stand atop the NFC East with identical 8-3 record, both with losses to San Fransisco and Arizona. The Cowboys third loss came at the hands of the Redskins, in which Colt McCoy led the Skins into Dallas for an OT win. The Eagles got blown out by MVP candidate Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau.
The Birds and Boys are both coming off big wins. The Eagles took care off the lowly Titans at home for their 10th straight road win. While the Cowboys came from behind to beat the Odell Beckham Jr led Giants. Quick side note about Beckham, that dude can play and he is a match up nightmare for anyone. So the table is set with all the fixings for what is sure to be an absolute war.
Match-up of the game as usual between the two will be at the quarterback position. Romo and Sanchez are the key players heading into this game. These two guys are notorious in folding big time in the big game. Sanchez vs Romo is only just one match-up that headlines this game.
The running-backs in this game will be pivotal. DeMarco Murray will have to be flawless against this Eagles defensive line and linebacker core. On the other side, the Eagles essentially have a two headed attack with LeSean “Shady” McCoy and Darren Sproles. These two guys, along with Chris Polk give the Eagles so many looks at RB, it may be too much for Dallas.
This game is going to be a battle to the final whistle. The Cowboys need this game for not just the division lead, but after what happened last year in the de facto NFC East title game, they need this to avenge that loss. It also marks the first time the two have met on Turkey Day since 1989, with the Eagles winning 27-0, which was dubbed the “Bounty Bowl”.
My pick is with my beloved Birds. The Boys will stick around though. I think its the typical Romo though in the end, that one big mistake loses it for Jerry’s Cowboys.
Final Score: Eagles 35 Cowboys 28
